In Management of Technology & Innovation class, the professor held a competitive team project. We had to try to drop an egg from a second floor balcony without breaking it. Each team got a limited amount of tape, and then we could “buy” sheets of paper from the professor to create a vehicle for the egg. The winning team would be the one that landed their egg safely using the fewest sheets of paper.
The lesson is supposed to be that the teams who focus on using as little paper as possible all fail, teaching us that you must be prepared to invest in innovation for it to be successful.
However, I broke his lesson. I designed my team’s vehicle and safely landed the egg with only 2 sheets of paper, which the professor had never seen in 20 years of doing it. See how with this guide I made in Illustrator.
